LOVE
“I have always felt that a human being could only be saved by another human being. I am aware that we do not save each other very often. But I am also aware that we save each other some of the time.” - Baldwin
There is a failure of love in this country. Both personal and public. We have forgotten how to love. We have forgotten that love does not free us from suffering, but drops us inside of it. Suffering with community, with lovers, full of love.
To love, is to love all. All. Everyone. To suffer with them. Rejoice with them. Never counting the cost. Love is a battle. Love is growing up. Love takes us everywhere. It is everywhere. If we let it.
There is a great cost to denying this love. To see another and not let them in. To see their pain and not let it move you. Love’s goal, if it has any, is to expose what is behind the mask. It’s a process of mutual unmasking. That is the gift.
Engaged Liberation is a labor of love. But it is labor. If you love it, support it for less than $5/mo. Thank you!
